Six Months Old

Six months has brought all kinds of fun stuff for Reed.
Reed is now officially sitting. He can only go for 10 minutes or so before he starts to get tired and begins to an advanced yoga position that we adults can only dream of doing where he basically folds up like a pretzel with his nose on his toes! We also still have to make sure we are close by and he's not near anything where he could fall over. He has a tendency to still lean once in awhile when he gets tired, but otherwise he is an excellent sitter!
He is currently teething - for REAL this time. Beau and I noticed that Reed is rubbing and tugging on his ear the past two days. He is feeling fine otherwise, no other symptoms to indicate an ear infection, and we have been working hard to keep earwax out. He won't give us a very good glimpse of his bottom gum, but I caught it a couple of times and there are definitely little teeth poking out! The teething hasn't disrupted his sleep - thank goodness - it's just meant a lot more gnawing on every object in sight. He will suck on his bib, his blankets, teething rings, plastic toys, pacifiers, you name it.
So far we haven't made much advancement toward crawling. He is tolerating his tummy more, but still no movement. In fact, he still hasn't figured out rolling from his tummy to his back, which is all the more frustrating considering he is excellent at rolling from his back to his tummy. (see prior post below) Yes, he is still waking in the middle of the night stuck on his tummy. I noticed the other day that he was getting pissed off enough and lifting his butt up that he was thisclose to accomplishing it, but he just couldn't figure out how to tuck his little arm in to make it happen. Momma helped him by tucking it for him, and he did do it once.He is taking 4-5 bottles of formula a day, and I've noticed that it's been more like 4 the past week. He has rice cereal and fruit every morning, vegetables at lunch and then fruit again in the evening. He loves his food! So far, we haven't tried anything he hasn't liked. We can tell he likes some fruit a little more than the rest, but honestly, this kid eats everything like it's the best thing he's ever had. So far, we've tried:
Green Beans
Peas
Carrots
Squash
Applesauce
Bananas
Peaches
Pears
We are starting him on oatmeal this week and expanding to include some Banana-berry mixes and sweet potatoes. He is a great eater, and doesn't require any encouragement to finish his serving. He holds his mouth open and anxiously waits for the next bite.
He is still doing great at daycare, and truthfully, it's a little embarrassing how much they love him there! He is such a happy baby, but they have told us that the only time he really cries, screams or gets irate is when they are too slow with the food. This kid still has a temper where he goes from zero to 60 in 2 seconds flat. There is no slow buildup of a whine, just BAM! screaming. Luckily, he is pretty quick to be placated or distracted.
Here is a picture of him with his friend Lucien at daycare.
