Over the Weekend...

Over the weekend, Reed had more visitors. Tom & Janet's friends Sil & Marlene Aprati visited from Berington, a suburb of Chicago. They came down to see Tom & Janet's new condo, and of course, made time to stop and see Reed. Beau has known Sil & Marlene since he was a baby...in fact I have seen photos of baby Beau and Amanda in Sil & Marlene's arms.

Here is our own photo of Reed with Sil & Marlene. Reed loved the toy they brought him as well as the Chicago Bears gear that he will wear later this winter! Thanks you two!

On Saturday, Beau and I had a date night while Gigi & Papa (my parents) watched Reed overnight. I took Reed out about 5:30, and then Beau and I went to dinner at Tony's on Main in downtown St. Charles. Dinner required an hour and a half wait, which wasn't a problem for us since we were childless for the evening. We sat at the bar and then enjoyed a great dinner when we got to our table. That's definitely not something we can do with Reed! After dinner was over, it was about 9:30 p.m., and Beau and I tried to decide what we should do with the rest of our evening. Nothing sounded better than going home, so that's where we went. Reed had a great overnight, though mom and dad said they were very glad we mentioned the tip about swaddling him with his arms tight to his side. They even said they asked Reed what color straightjacket he wants for Christmas. I'm not kidding when I say you have to strap this kid down!

In fact, here is the latest update on the sleeping. We had a great night last night. He went down about 7:45 p.m. and then woke up at 10 p.m. for a feeding. Beau fed him and put him back in his crib. About 12:30 I heard him starting to fuss and snort because he had a lot of congestion. I went in and gave him some saline drops, changed his diaper and reswaddled him. I realized he might be cold and might sleep a little better if he was warmer. So then I zipped him in his sleepsack. He slept from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. this morning when I finally had to wake him up! Here is a photo of him in his sleepsack.
