Weddings

We had two weddings of friends to go to in early May. First, our friends Mike Frahlman and Beth Weber were married on May 3. Beau was asked to be an usher. The wedding day was beautiful, and we really enjoyed spending Friday evening and Saturday with Mike and Beth celebrating their marriage.

I took some photos with friends before I get too big. All of these photos are from the Frahlman wedding. We unfortunately didn't get any from the wedding we went to on May 10 in Springfield, IL, which was for our friends Bob Blinn and Christine Cadwell. But no worries - I wore the same dress since the weddings involved two different groups of friends. Only one of our couple friends attended both - Brian and Jamie Antonacci. Since Jamie is about 16 weeks pregnant, she understood - It was difficult enough to try to find one maternity dress, let alone two!

The weddings were fun, but they were the first ones I've attended in quite a while where I didn't get to have any champagne, wine or mixed drink. I've taken to O'Douls for the interim.

Plus, at the rehearsal for the Frahlman wedding on Friday night, we experienced a milestone with the baby. Before the rehearsal began, we were seated in a pew waiting to start. I felt the baby kick at the top of my abdomen right below my chest. It felt pretty hard, and usually if the baby kicks in one spot, I can expect it to happen at least one more time before he/she moves on. So I grabbed Beau's hand as fast as I could, kind of awkwardly and put it on my belly. He wasn't quite sure what I was doing, until I told him I thought he might be able to feel him. Sure enough, he let out another kick and Beau's eyes widened. He felt it! He said he was pretty excited, but couldn't really show it while we were seated in church.

Unfortunately, it's been difficult for me to get it to happen again. The baby moves mostly in the early morning when I first wake up and sometimes mid-morning at work. Beau has seen my belly jump a couple of times when we've been seated on the couch at home at night.
