Long Time, No Post

Well my fellow blogger and friend Laura let me know over the weekend that my blog has not been updated. It's nice to know someone cares!
I was out of town last week, and I've had some problems recently with both my home and office computer (see more below) so those are my excuses!
Last week I traveled to the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) convention in Kansas City. This is one of the most fun parts of my job. I am the liaison for farm broadcasters at Monsanto, and as such, I attend their annual meeting held in KC every year. It's a lot of fun to see the broadcasters, and it' s one of the few times during the year that I have the opportunity to get out and see these folks. We bring Monsanto spokespeople to the event to discuss current products, trends and issues in agriculture. The show went really well, and we had a very productive convention.
The only problem I had with traveling was the lack of access to my computer. I have my Blackberry, which is great, but it only allows me to send short e-mails. If I have a lengthy note to send or attachments or need to do any work in Word, I need to have access to my e-mail.
Well, the last couple of weeks I had both my home and office computer crap out on me! I got the dreaded blue screen at work, and at home my computer was no better. I can’t tell you how scary it is nowadays to be disconnected from the Internet. AAAHHH!
To fix both computers, I had to have the hard drive stripped and reinstalled. My brother-in-law Tate who works in IT for St. John’s Mercy was kind of enough to help me with my home computer. Unfortunately to fix the problem he had to remove my program files. Yikes! I now no longer have my Internet access program, MS Money, etc. I have to reinstall but I can’t find the programs. And at work they did the same thing – stripped my wireless connector and I was SOL in KC.
So that’s my excuse.
